A Really Big Thank You..

We would like to send out a massive thank you to Torpoint & Rame Peninsula Lions! Who have not only supported us a great deal since our reformation, but have gone one-step-up in their support by presenting us with a completely brand new pop up Gazebo at our last meeting.

This contribution means a great deal to the club as it will allow us to participate within community activities.

So a really big THANK YOU! It really is appreciated a great deal!

We're Growing!

Saltash Lions Club would like to give a warm welcome to our two new members Anne and Keith! Who joined us on our last meeting (February 16) that takes us up to 9 members now for which we are extremely grateful as it will enable us to become just a little bit more active within the community which is our ultimate goal.

Here's a picture of the badging up of Anne and Keith with Club President John Wood:

We had an excellent time at the Guildhall's Clubs and Societies exhibition last month. It was good to hear some positive feedback from members of the Saltash community who have missed us and others who are interested in becoming members.

Moving on, we would like to send out a warm thank you to Torpoint & Rame Peninsula Lions Club who kindly invited us to take part in a fundraising activity to pick as many Daffodils as we could at Anthony House. We were extremely fortunate to pick on a beautiful Saturday morning, and I can confirm that none of our team suffered the same fate as Alice in the new Alice in Wonderland film and that we all made it home safe. For which a few hours spent picking enabled us to make a small fundraising amount of £55 to add to our funds - to quote Tesco "Every Little Helps!"

Due to our increase in numbers we are able to participate within more town focused activities which we will be able to tell you more about in the up-coming weeks. So keep popping back to keep informed.

If watching the sunrise on a beautiful Saturday morning whilst picking flowers sounds like something you'd quite like to be part of then you're more than welcome to join us; all we ask is that you pop along to one of our meetings get to know us, see what we're up to and see what we stand for. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 16 March at Saltash Working Men's Club @ 7.30pm. Or alternatively the third Tuesday of each month, same place, same time.

Speak to you soon

Meeting: 15th September 2009

The reformation of our club has been a long process, but we are slowly beginning to see the results. One of those results are the steady progression of new members joining our club. Most recently that has been the addition of Vicki, Vicki was previously an active ex Leo of the old Saltash Lions Club and we are extremely happy that she has chosen to rejoin us as a Lion.
Below is a lovely article and photograph that features Vicki and her grandfather, Torpoint and Rame Lions member, Norman from our September meeting.

(article featured within the SW105 October Newsletter)

With the addition of Vicki we have now boosted our club membership to 7 in our first 3 months. This is an achievement we are all most proud of, but we are not content to stop there, and therefore we need YOU to help us and the community of Saltash. If you are interested in joining or just wish to come along and see what we do then you are most welcome. Our club meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, which means our October meeting is scheduled for this coming Tuesday (20th) to begin at 7.30pm at Saltash Working Mens Club.

I hope to see you there.

Meeting: 18th August 2009

We recently held our second meeting within Saltash Working Mens Club were very welcomed to be joined District Governor Christine Rowe along with the Zone President and Torpoint and Rame Peninsula Lions

We have been extremely fortunate enough to have doubled our membership; which as a club we are extremely proud to have achieved well before our Christmas deadline.
However, as we are recently reformed, membership is essential to our ability to help the community of Saltash, so if you are interested in becoming a member or just want to find out some more information please do not hesitate to pop along to a meeting; as the more people who join us the quicker we can start organising events and helping people.

The next official meeting will be held at Saltash Working Mens Club on the Tuesday 15th September @ 7.30pm.

See you there

Ciao
